Poke Fun at Your Favorite Nerd (for a Good Cause) at Upcoming 'Geek Roast'

Proceeds from the Redmond event will go toward helping the husband of Thinkspace's chief operating officer fight a rare form of cancer.

Technology nerds from all around the Seattle area will unite in Redmond on Nov. 11 to poke fun at each other during a "Geek Roast" fundraising event.

The event is being held as a fundraiser for the husband of Alyssa Magnotti, the chief operating officer of Thinkspace, an office space company in Redmond.

Magnotti's 25-year-old husband, Nick Magnotti, has been diagnosed with a rare form of stage IV appendix cancer and is planning to undergo an aggressive chemotherapy procedure that costs between $200,000 and $300,000.

At the Geek Roast, which will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Redmond Marriott Hotel, attendees will get to take jabs at a local tech nerd while sampling drinks and appetizers and taking part in a live auction. The roasted guest of honor will be determined by an online vote—click here for a rundown of the nominees and a chance to cast your vote.

Tickets to the Geek Roast are $40 per person. To register for the event or find more information, visit seattlegeekroast.com.
