Microsoft Employee Acused of Stealing $9K in Software

A Redmond man faces felony charges for allegedly shoplifting software from the company store and selling it on eBay, SeattlePI.com reports.

A Microsoft employee is facing felony theft charges after police say he stole nearly $10,000 worth of software from the company's campus store and sold at least some of it on eBay.

As SeattlePI.com reports, Ulugbek Shodmonov, 31, of Redmond is accused of shoplifting $9,900 worth of software from the company store on several occasions last fall.

According to the PI, Redmond Police believe Shodmonov acquired the software by taking items from a locked room that is accessible only to employees and loading them into a laptop bag he had placed in a changing room beforehand. Police also say Shodmonov sold some of the items he had previously purchased at a deep employee discount.
