Pet of the Week: Rex, the Lab/Australian Shepherd Mix

Rex is an active 1-year-old pup looking for a forever home.

Are the hiking and running trails calling to you but you don’t want to go by yourself? This energetic 1 year old is just waiting for someone to take him out for a run, and he won’t even mind the rain!

Rex, a darling lab/Australian shepherd mix, would love to get to the dog park each week and have plenty of doggy playdates. He loves other dogs and people. Rex would prefer a house with older children and no cats due to his size and energy.

He is proud to be already housebroken, neutered and up on all routine shots. He already has learned ‘sit’ and walks well on a leash. Rex would be a great dog for a family that wants a dog they can take everywhere. He likes to stay busy and have fun. If you are active and want a dog to be your buddy, Rex would love to be yours. Whoever adopts him needs to give him a lifetime commitment and be willing to continue training him, as well as giving him attention and exercise.

Rex is just an example of the many wonderful shelter dogs that are looking for forever families. His story is a lucky one because the animal shelter contacted 11th Hour Rescue and Sanctuary in Issaquah. Check out 11th Hour Rescue at http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/22149156. You can email them at dogfarm@gmail.com to request an adoption application for Rex. They also are always in need of foster homes.
