The first-ever Redmond's Got Talent came to a close on a fun-filled Friday night, March 22, according to Ken Wong, Teen and 50+ programs administrator for the city.

The five finalists: Sierra Hutton, Eric Klassen, Kelley Koeppen, Kendrick Griffin, and Hunter Backlund, performed in front of an eager and excited crowd, Wong said.

Four of the five finalists were selected by judges on Mar 8 and the fifth was chosen by the audience who went to YouTube and “liked” their favorite. Koeppen won the fifth finalist spot with 187 likes and over 2700 views of her video.

The competition on finals night was fierce, Wong said, with Klassen juggling, Hutton, the youngest at age 12, singing sang "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables. Both Koeppen and Griffin did their renditions of cover songs and Backlund on the ukulele did an original tune that he wrote.

Judges chose Backlund as the winner. The audience winner that night was Griffin.
