Muslim Association of Puget Sound Hosts Art and Culture Day

The Muslim Association of Puget Sound (MAPS) is proud to present Art & Culture Day to take place on June 16, 2012 at MAPS (17550 NE 67th Court, Redmond, WA, 98052), from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Art and Culture Day aims to promote creativity among Washington Muslims and to share the diversity of Islamic heritage with the larger community of Puget Sound.

The establishment of Art & Culture Day is a long-awaited goal of making the uniqueness of Islamic arts and culture part of the multicultural experience in the Greater Seattle area. The event is dedicated to furthering the understanding of Islamic heritage through Art as well as celebrating the diverse cultures that make up the Islamic world. Art & Culture Day will feature  Art exhibit by local Muslim artists, countries booths, performances, ethnic cuisines, and more.

Discover the world of artists and other creative minds of our community. Bring your family, friends and neighbors to this exciting and unique event at MAPS, and discover your own inner artist.

What: MAPS Art and Culture day

When: June 16, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Venue: MAPS at 17550 NE 67th Court, Redmond, WA 98052

Food: Lunch available for $5 (ethnic cuisines)

Program Special: Art workshops ($10 fee) and competition for children ages 7-14. Spaces are limited so email us if you're interested to register

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
