Stephen Cox, a 20+ year veteran of Microsoft, recently accepted a new position with SanMar Corporation. Cox will be joining SanMar’s IT team as a Windows System Admin where he will utilize his unique combination of technical and communication skills.
Cox joined Microsoft in 1987 as an Assembler in their Kamber manufacturing facility in Bellevue. He quickly moved from there into a Customer Service role in the company’s Inside Sales organization eventually joining the Developer Services Team where he provided pre-sales technical consulting to Microsoft’s Solution Providers and Corporate Account customers. When Microsoft launched their Internet Provider service Cox moved from the Sales to Operations side of the business joining the MSN organization. He took on various roles most notably working as a Systems Engineer supporting Microsoft’s Subscription Commerce service for products like Hotmail and Xbox Live.
When Cox isn’t working on computers he enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 kids attending soccer games and volunteering his time with various organizations like Lake WA Youth Soccer and Lake WA High School boys soccer. Occasionally you can also find him pillaging & plundering in the name of charity with Seattle’s favorite band of buccaneers, the Seattle Seafair Pirates.
