Redmond resident Katelyn Kammers, who attends the University of Montana, was one of 45 students to recently win a $2,500 scholarship from the BECU Foundation.
The winners were chosen from more than 600 applicants based on their community service activities, leadership, and academic success.
Here is some information about Kammers from BECU:
Over the past few years, Katelyn persistently volunteered at Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center, an organization that provides physical therapy and horse riding lessons to special needs individuals. She supported, encouraged and laughed with the many students at Little Bit stables. The camaraderie and sense of empowerment that she felt as part of the Little Bit family continues to inspire her to reach beyond her usual groups of people in her new home in Montana.
