City Hall Exhibit Honors State’s First Women in Government

During April and May, the Redmond Historical Society will feature the Washington State Heritage Center’s Moving Forward, Looking Back: Washington’s First Women in Government.

The Washington State Heritage Center produced Moving Forward, Looking Back: Washington’s First Women in Government—an exhibit highlighting the first women elected to major public offices following Washington’s 1910 enactment of women’s right to vote.

This 16-panel exhibit is located in the City Hall lobby through May 31, 2012 to honor the 2010 Centennial of women’s suffrage in Washington State and to celebrate history during Redmond’s 1912-2012 Centennial.

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
