Teen Center Seeks Young Rockers For Music Contest

Redmond's is now accepting applications for its fifth-annual Classic Rockathon. Performances are scheduled to begin April 15 and continue through May 6.

The contest is open to Redmond residents who are between the ages of 13 and 18. Both bands and solo performers are invited to enter.

Prizes include time in the teen center's recording studio, gear and gift certificates.

The deadline to apply to the rockathon is 5 p.m. on March 22. Applications are available in person at the Old Fire House Teen Center, 16510 NE 79th St., or online.

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
