Celebration of Lavender and Art in the Sammamish Valley

Save the date on your calendar for the first annual Celebration of lavender and art in the Sammamish Valley.  Three locations between Woodinville and Redmond have special festivities planned for Saturday  and  Sunday,  July 13th and 14th.

Lavender crafts, classes, demonstrations  and more is on the schedule at Dr. Maze’s Farm.  Fun activities for kids and adults include hayrides, animals and crafts.  Enjoy lavender lemonade and teas.  Watch the distillation process, as well as cooking with lavender demonstrations.  Open both days, 10 to 6.  For more information, see www.Dr.MazesFarm.com

Woodinville Lavender will be open Saturday from 10 to 6 and Sunday from 11 to 5.  Activities include a Master Gardener talk, cooking with lavender  and distilling demonstrations, and wand making.  Enjoy lavender treats.  Visit www.WoodinvilleLavender.com for additional information.

Minea Farm will be open on Saturday from 11 to 5 and 12 to 5 on Sunday.  See the 100 year old cider press.   Enjoy fresh pressed lavender cider, lavender fruit leather and applesauce.  Take home some apple butter, apple slices, farm eggs and local honey.  For info, call (425) 883-1286.

Apple Farm Village is located across the street from the historic Hollywood Schoolhouse and is home to three tasting rooms,  specialty shops and local services.  Three beautifully renovated  former Woodinville homes have been moved to the tourist district and are surrounded by extensive perennial gardens, including lavender.  Enjoy Art on the Fence and artists in action.  Sculpture demonstration  with local artist Tim Schriever on Saturday from 12 to 4 and  pottery demonstration with Robert Moreno  on Sunday, from 1 to 5.  Enjoy lavender lattes and lavender Italian sodas at Chateau Espresso, lavender products on the porch at Gretchen Scott Salon.  Linger in the wine garden while tasting wine at three highly acclaimed wineries, Lauren Ashton Cellars, Otis Kenyon wines and Zerba Cellars.  www.applefarmvillage.com
