Are Novelty and Union Hills Retaining Rural Character in Construction Boom?

There's been nearly 70 percent population growth since 2000 (with about 18,800 people currently) thanks largely to a master-planned development which includes Redmond Ridge, Trilogy and Redmond Ridge East, according to a recent Seattle Times story.

And the road construction seems to have been going on the entire time, with orange cones up and down Novelty Hill Sunday.

Data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2010 report show the Union Hill/Novelty Hill population center is the fifth highest of 522 places in Washington state for per capita income, The Seattle Times report said. The estimated median household income was $117,824 in 2009, compared with Washington state’s $56,548 median.
