Redhook Brewery's 16th Annual Haul Ash Redhook Tour De Brew

  • Why Go: Kick off the cycling season with this 42-mile bike ride to Fremont to commemorates the 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens. The round-trip route goes from Redhook Brewery to Seattle's Fremont neighborhood — the birthplace of Redhook — along the scenic Burke-Gilman Trail. The after-party will run from noon to 3 p.m. in the grassy Bowl at the brewery, complete with a BBQ and Redhook beer garden.

  • Why Go: NAMI depends on generous volunteers to raise funds and awareness for mental illness. The NAMI Washington Walk is the sole fund-raising activity for the statewide organization and all its affiliates advocating for the mentally ill — conducting education forums and classes, sponsoring peer and family support groups, battling stigma through awareness outreach, and seeking legislative action at the state, county and municipal levels.

  • Why Go: This super-sale of children's shoes and clothing is known for having enthusiastic moms lining up hours beforehand. Those who brave the crowds will have dibs on thousands of pairs of deeply discounted shoes — many offered at 50 percent off.
