It's Girl Scout Cookie Time In Redmond

Here's where to find the delicious treats around town.

It's Girl Scout cookie time in Western Washington, and troops are at several Redmond stores this weekend selling the tasty snacks.

At the on Redmond Way, Cadette Girl Scout Kira Sorensen, 15, was selling cookies Saturday afternoon with her mother, Kate Sorensen.

Kira, who sold 55 boxes Saturday and will be out at the on Sunday, is selling cookies to support the Girl Scout Giving Circle, a regional group of teen scouts that aims to raise between $1,500 and $2,000 for a nonprofit grant. Kira's goal for the project is 150 boxes.

"So far I’m on the right track," Kira said. "I’ve sold 130 boxes so far, if not more.”

Cookies will be sold at many Redmond locations, including Redmond's two Safeway stores, until 6 p.m. or later on Saturday. Other local selling spots include , , and Redmond's three stores. Girl Scouts of all ages have been selling cookies since the 1920s as a way to raise money for troop activities, according to the organization's website. Cookies will be sold in Redmond every day through March 13. The cost is $4 per box.
