Little Bit Finalizes Sale of Woodinville Property, Plans to Move to Redmond in Early 2013

The nonprofit provides equine-assisted therapy and adaptive riding to hundreds of people with disabilities.

Little Bit Riding Center announced this week it has finalized the sale of its Woodinville property and will move to its new 17-acre Redmond facility, called Dunmire Stables, sometime in early 2013.

The $11.5-million expansion plan began in 2004 and will effectively enable Little Bit to double its capacity to around 500 riders.

“The greatest challenge we have faced over the years has been our inability to serve more individuals in need, as we’ve been operating at full capacity,” Kathy Alm, Little Bit's executive director, said in a news release. “With the new facility, we can finally start carving away at our two year waiting list of more than 200 individuals who have been waiting for these much needed services.”

The Redmond facility is located off Avondale Road and will feature a 40-stall barn, two covered arenas, a welcome center, therapy rooms and a tack barn.

Little Bit will host a public meeting this Sunday, Oct. 7, to offer more information about the move and the organization in general. The gathering will take place at 4 p.m. at the Woodinville facility, located at 19802 NE 148th St.
