Outgoing Friends of Youth CEO To Be Honored at Reception

Joan Campbell is retiring from the position after 22 years with the organization.

A public reception in honor of outgoing 's Chief Executive Officer Joan Campbell will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 18 at The Hyatt Regency Bellevue, 900 Bellevue Way NE in Bellevue.

Campbell is retiring from the position of CEO, which she held since 2009. She worked at Friends of Youth for 22 years, starting in program management before moving into higher profile roles in the organization.

Campbell was instrumental in expanding services for youth on the Eastside, for starting programs for homeless young girls, and for initiating the “Healthy Start” program—a collaboration between several organizations that serves young parents who are expecting or are caring for their first child.

Succeeding Campbell in the role of Chief Executive Officer is , former Chief Operating Officer at Friends of Youth.

The reception for Campell will include light refreshments and is open to the public. To reserve a spot, send an email to info@friendsofyouth.org before Aug. 16.

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
