Pet of the Week: Benny

No Jets, just Benny, a really keen little dog with a big heart looking for a home.

Looking for a personable smaller dog? Meet Benny, a recent arrival to . Benny’s seeking an owner who can provide him with more time than he received in his previous home. This one-year-old pooch is excited about the idea of finally being spoiled like he deserves. He’s very personable and he bonds to his people quickly. At only 11 pounds, he’ll make a great lap dog and he’s a fine choice for someone looking for a smaller companion.

Compatible with both dogs and cats alike, Benny would be a good choice for someone looking to add another pet to their household. He is accustomed to living with older children and adults, so he would prefer to be placed with well-mannered kids over the age of 10 years.

Benny walks well on a leash and has nice house manners in general. At such a young age, he has many years of love to offer the right person. Sweet natured Benny takes everything in stride and has quickly become a favorite of staff and volunteers alike, however, he is ready to move on and put his shelter days behind him. He’s ready and waiting to meet visitors.

Homeward Pet will be able to help even more animals like Benny, when it moves into a new building this fall. More than twice the size of the current facility, the new location will allow the organization to care for more animals and expand its veterinary clinic to provide more low-cost spay, neuter and microchip services to the community. Homeward Pet is funded entirely by private donations; contact the center to make a tax-deductible donation at www.homewardpet.org.

Homeward Pet Adoption Center is at 18800 Woodinville-Snohomish Road, Woodinville. The shelter is open for visitors between noon- 6 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday.
