Pet of the Week: Conway the Miniature Pinscher Mix

The loveable canine was found as a stray and is currently up for adoption through Redmond-based Motley Zoo Animal Rescue.

Conway is a loveable and inquisitive 5-year-old miniature pinscher mix that was found as a stray by Redmond-based and is now looking for a permanent home.

Conway is both neutered, microchipped, flea-treated, dewormed and up-to-date on vaccines. He is currently having a tumor removed from his leg and it is currently unknown how or whether this will affect him in the future.

Notes from Conway's foster home: Conway is brand new in our care so we are still getting to know him! So far he has been a big cuddle bug with his current foster. He loves his people and likes to hang out near them. He enjoys playing with his toys and is quite a 'hopper'—which can be cute but can also be an undesirable way to greet people, so continued training to stop his jumping will be necessary in his forever home. Conway is a sweet-tempered and gentle boy who can be found burrowed under blankets when he's not playing. He does have a lot of energy so an outlet of activity will be good for him. He is a little cautious when he meets new people but warms up quickly if reassured by his people that the stranger is a friend. He's a great little guy who can't wait to find his forever home!

Notes about adopting: All potential adopters fill out an application, are interviewed and have the opportunity to visit the dogs. Fees depend on the veterinarian care that has been given. Because animal rescues are run entirely by volunteers, costs need to be reimbursed so the rescue can continue to save more dogs. All adoptable pets have vaccinations and are spayed, neutered, microchipped and flea-treated. Many have dental work done if they are older.

Motley Zoo Rescue of Redmond is a nonprofit animal rescue organization that is run by volunteers. Motley Zoo Rescue does not have a shelter location but instead houses all of its needy pets in foster homes.

Motley Zoo is always looking for foster homes. Fostering is a great way to "test out" your family to see if you are ready for a permanent pet. Call 206-453-8480 or e-mail volunteer@motleyzoo.org for more information.
