Pet of the Week: Coral the Terrier

This terrier, another sweetie, is looking for a perfect home — a "forever" home.

Coral is a small rat terrier mix that would love to find a family for herself. She is 2 years old and won't get any bigger. She is just one of many adult dogs waiting for a home. Adult dogs bond quickly and are much easier to adapt to a family than a puppy. So, don't stop reading just because she is 2 years old!

Rat terriers can be excitable, but Coral is actually quite mellow. She will fit in well as she is also great with dogs, cats and is fine with being crate trained. At 15 pounds, she is the perfect lap cuddler and loves to find that spot as you are relaxing on the couch.

When first arriving at Motley Zoo (a rescue group in Redmond) as a stray, she had a food allergy that caused her hair to fall out. It has since grown back, and she now happily eats her hypoallergenic food.

Notes from Coral's Foster Home: Coral is a sweet and loving little rat terrier. She loves people and she is happy to be with the cats and dogs in her foster home. Unlike many rat terriers, she is pretty mellow and not hyper, even despite her young age. Coral is a very loving girl; she is looking for a lap to lie in and get cuddles. She is a little shy at first but opens up quickly.

She is interested in anything you are doing and gets excited to see you. Coral likes to play with squeaky toys and lounge in her doggie bed. She is great on a leash and loves walks. She also knows the commands "sit" and "down." Despite her healing process from food allergies, she is a great little gal and is looking for someone to love her.

Coral is spayed, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed and is current on vaccines. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs. In addition, all pets adopted from Motley Zoo come with 30 days of free pet insurance provided by Shelter Care.

Motley Zoo does not have a shelter, but instead takes care of rescued animals in foster homes. Check out the group's website at www.motleyzoo.org or go to an upcoming adoption event. The next one is scheduled for June 18 at the Redmond from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
