Pet of the Week: Gingin the Terrier

Motley Zoo Rescue of Redmond is looking for Gingin's "forever" home.

Gingin is a 1-1/2-year-old toy fox terrier. She is a 6-pound bundle of sweetness and silliness. Although having a pet should be a lifetime commitment, Gingin was relinquished to the animal shelter because her family felt it had too many pets. Luckily, Motley Zoo Rescue was able to squeeze her into a foster home in order to find a family that will cherish her.

Gingin would be best for a family that will be committed to giving her a lot of attention. She is still working on becoming house trained and crate trained but is learning quickly.

Gingin would be perfect for a family with dog-respectful children. Ideally, they should be 8 years old or older. She also loves to play with other dogs and just sniffs at cats.

Gingin is healthy but does have a food allergy and will need to always be on hypoallergenic dog food.  She is spayed, microchipped, flea treated and up on all her vaccinations.

Notes from Gingin's Foster Home: Gingin is a very sweet girl. She loves to snuggle and give kisses. She follows her foster mom around, so she bonds well with humans. She's bouncy and likes to be silly. She's timid at first but warms up fast.

Motley Zoo Rescue of Redmond is a nonprofit animal rescue organization run by volunteers. Motley Zoo Rescue does not have a shelter location, but instead houses all of its needy pets in foster homes.

Notes about adopting: All potential adopters fill out an application, are interviewed and have the opportunity to visit the dogs. Fees depend on the veterinarian care that has been given. All adopters get 30 days of free pet insurance, and each dog comes with a leash, collar or harness. Motley Zoo is always looking for foster homes. Fostering is a great way to "test out" your family to see if you are ready for a permanent pet.
