Pet of the Week: Gypsy the Boxer/Bulldog Mix

Motley Zoo Rescue is looking for Gypsy's "forever" home.

Gypsy is a boxer/bulldog mix and is a little over a year old. She is spayed and housebroken. She's also had all of her shots. She also already knows all about crate training and happily walks right in. Gypsy would be a great dog for an active family with children who are 8 years old or older. Gypsy is a little timid until she is comfortable but loves going out and about to walk and play. Her temperament is very sweet, and she likes other dogs once she gets used to them. Similar to any young dog, she will need a family dedicated to working with her and committed to keeping her for her lifetime.

Notes from Gypsy's Foster Home: Gypsy is a sweet dog who would do great with an active family that likes walks or has a big backyard. She isn't super high energy but definitely has some energy and she likes going on walks. She does pull a little on the leash but is pretty easy to manage. She is sensitive, so if you tell her to stop, she does. She does pretty well with the "sit" command but needs some continued work on "stay." When she gets out of her crate she gets a little excited, wondering what comes next, but calms down right away when she realizes this is the routine. She is a great dog and deserves a family that has the time to spend with her and provide her the continued training and fun she needs.

Motley Zoo Rescue of Redmond is a nonprofit animal rescue organization that is run by volunteers. Motley Zoo Rescue does not have a shelter location but instead houses all of its needy pets in foster homes.

Notes about adopting: All potential adopters fill out an application, are interviewed and have the opportunity to visit the dogs. Fees depend on the veterinarian care that has been given. All adoptable pets have vaccinations and are spayed, neutered, microchipped and flea-treated. Many have dental work done if they are older. Motley Zoo is always looking for foster homes. Fostering is a great way to "test out" your family to see if you are ready for a permanent pet.
