PSE Identifies Three Possible Routes for New Transmission Line

The 4.5-mile line will connect the Sammamish substation in Redmond to or near the Juanita substation in Kirkland.

A PSE advisory committee has identified three possible routes for a 4.5-mile high-voltage transmission line that will connect a substation on Willows Road in Redmond to or near the Juanita substation in Kirkland.

The line will transport 115 kilovolt of electricity in an area that PSE says has a growing demand for power. Construction on the new transmission line is expected to begin in early 2013.

A map released by PSE (and attached to this post) shows three possible routes for the line, with the majority running along either Willows Road Northeast, 132nd Avenue Northeast or 124th Avenue Northeast.

PSE said it will hold two public meetings in April to give residents a chance to weigh in on the proposed routes. Patch will update this post when specific meeting dates and locations are set.
