Reader-Submitted Photos: Mayor Marchione Visits Alcott Elementary

The school's student leadership group invited the mayor to speak about his role in city government.

Redmond Mayor John Marchione paid a visit to the student leadership group at earlier this week to discuss his role in city government.

Parent coordinator Tracy Vaughn said student leadership is an extra-curricular program with 24 students in grades four through six.

Vaughn said group has three goals: to support the school and international communities, to promote school spirit and camaraderie, and to learn how to become positive, influential leaders by interacting with local officials.

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
