Key to Awesomeness: This was the first year these motivated Brownies from Audubon sold Girl Scout cookies. In addition to selling cookies to friends and family, the girls in the troop decided to suggest cookie donations to and to Operation Cookie Drop, a program that allows customers to purchase boxes of cookies and donate them to U.S. military personnel.

All in all the girls sold more than 100 pounds of cookies to donate to the two charities. The scouts delivered 50 pounds of cookies to Hopelink last week and took a tour of the facility. Along with the cookie donations, the girls also plan to donate a portion of their sale proceeds to a local animal shelter.
