Redmond Rotary to Host Anderson Park Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony This Thursday

The rotary has helped fund renovations to the park's 73-year-old picnic shelter.

The Rotary Club of Redmond will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at this Thursday to celebrate the completion of renovations to the park's 73-year-old picnic shelter.

As Redmond Patch , the rotary donated $15,000 toward the $107,755 renovation project, which replaced several rotted timbers and part of the structure's roofing. The shelter's stone chimney structure was also refurbished.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 1 p.m., following a rotary club meeting at noon. Anyone is welcome to attend the rotary meeting in addition to the ceremony; if you would like to attend, contact Erica Erdozain at eerdozain@bannerbank.com for information on ordering a box lunch.

The park is located at 7802 168th Ave. NE in Redmond.

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
