Redmond Rousers Holding Auction to Benefit Literacy Causes

The event takes place this Friday at the Redmond Town Center Marriott Hotel.

The Redmond Rousers Rotary will hold an auction luncheon this Friday to benefit two literacy programs for children.

The event takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the . Tickets are $40, and donations will also be accepted.

Proceeds will go to Imagine Scholar, a program that provides personalized education to promising students in a disadvantaged region of South Africa, and the rotary's Dictionary Project, which supplies hardcover dictionaries to third graders in the Puget Sound region.

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
