Redmond's winter might not be over just yet, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service.

The forecast says snow showers are likely tonight and that 1 to 2 inches of accumulation is possible. A special statement from the NWS indicates the foothills in eastern King County are among the areas with the greatest chance for accumulation.

Major spring snowstorms are rare for the Pacific Northwest, but light dustings do happen from time to time. During a minor snow event in March of 2008, seattlepi.com published a story saying the latest recorded snowfall in the Seattle area was 1.2 inches on April 17, 1972.

The weather is expected to turn more spring-like by the end of the week, with temperatures pushing 60 degrees by Thursday.
