VIDEO: Teens and Seniors Race Against the Clock in Game Show-Style Competition

Young and old competed against one another during the Redmond Senior Center's "Minute to Win It" activity on Wednesday.

Young and old were drawn together in a race against the clock at the Redmond Senior Center on Wednesday.

Laughter and cheering filled the center as participants held a game-show style competition modeled after NBC's "Minute To Win It" program. In "Minute to Win It," contestants must complete 60-second challenges with household items such as eggs, paper towel rolls and empty aluminum cans.

The seniors who participated in Wednesday's competition teamed up with teenagers from a city-sponsored after-school program. They completed 10 games in a 90-minute period.

The idea for the activity came from Senior Center program coordinator Teri Burke. Burke watches the television show and began browsing the program's website for games to play.

This is the second time this year the senior center has hosted a Minute to Win It session, and Burke said there will likely be another competition in the fall.
