VIEWFINDER: Savoring Summer's Final Days in Redmond

People flocked to local parks this weekend to soak up the abundant sunshine.

It might seem as though summer just arrived in the Pacific Northwest, but with September and the first day of school right around the corner, many people in Redmond headed outdoors this weekend to take advantage of some all-too-rare sunshine.

Temperatures hovered around 80 degrees for most of the weekend—plenty warm enough to entice swimmers at . Elsewhere, Redmonders hit up the trails, enjoyed some family time at and browsed the latest harvest at the . Lake Sammamish was also busy with boaters and jet skiers.

This week's forecast calls for cooler temperatures and mostly cloudy skies over the next few days, but the sun looks like it could make a comeback just in time for the Labor Day weekend.
