'Weed Thug' Workshop Coming to Redmond Library

King County is hosting a class on how to handle invasive knotweed, "one of the toughest weed thugs around."

King County will host a workshop Tuesday evening to provide tips on combatting invasive knotweed, a non-native plant species it calls "one of the toughest weed thugs around." Invasive knotweed has become too common in King County and increases creek erosion, according to the county.

The class runs from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the and will teach participants the following:

  • How invasive knotweed grows and spreads
  • How and where to use different methods to control knotweed
  • How to borrow a knotweed stem injector for use on your own land
  • What is being done to fight knotweed on some of the rivers of King County
