  • When/where: 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 18, behind
  • Why go: Celebrate Bike to Work Day and Redmond's Centennial with a two-wheeled-themed evening of fun at city hall. The event will feature live music, give-aways and prizes, free food and drink, chair massages and more.
  • Pricing: Free

  • When/where: 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 19, at
  • Why go: Kick off a summer of physical activity by participating in the annual Big Backyard 5K, a major fundraiser for King County parks. The family friendly event is open to runners, walkers, dogs and strollers. A free kids' dash will be held at 9:45 a.m.
  • Pricing: 5K registration is $40; kids' dash is free.

Eastside Symphony Spring Concert

  • When/where: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 19 at
  • Why go: Join the Eastside Symphony for its last concert of the 2011-2012 season at Redmond Performing Arts Center. The evening will feature a variety of compositions from Beethoven, Strauss, Dvorak and more, along with a piece from Dukas that showcases the solo horn.
  • Pricing: Advance tickets are available online for $10 for general admission and $7 for students and seniors. Tickets will also be sold for $12/$9 at the door, cash or check only.

Sammamish Valley Artist Studio Self-Guided Tour

  • Where/when: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 19, and Sunday, May 20, at various locations in the Sammamish Valley
  • Why go: Artists from throughout the Woodinville-Redmond area will open their studios and gardens for the , held Saturday and Sunday at various locations. Click here to see a brochure with a map of studio locations and more information.
  • Pricing: Free

  • When/where: 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at
  • Why go: Got a young one who wants to try yoga? Stop by Kid Yoga's new location at Health Within to get a taste of upcoming yoga classes and camps for children and teens. Many camps combine yoga with other activities, such as gardening, arts, and enivornmental education.
  • Pricing: Free

  • Where/When: 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 20, meets in front of the Justice White House at 7730 Leary Way NE.
  • Why Go: Join historian Tom Hitzroth in a walking tour to some of the downtown area's oldest and most storied locations. Commemorate Redmond's centennial year by learning what life was like when the city was just a small logging and farming town. Note: tour will not be held in the event of rain.
  • Pricing: Tours are $8 per person with proceeds benefitting the historical society. Register by Thursday by calling 425-885-2919 or emailing info@redmondhistoricalsociety.org.
