Win Tickets to the Puyallup Fair, 'Get Your Happy On!'

Patch is giving away dozens of tickets to the Puyallup Fair. Just sign up for a free email newsletter below for a chance to win.

We've heard the questions: What's been missing in my life these past few months? How can I put an exclamation point on my summer? And can that exclamation point include fried food on a stick?

Here at Patch, we have your answer. Better still, we'll give it to you for free.

Sign up for a Patch newsletter today, and you will be entered to win one of dozens of free pairs of tickets to the Puyallup Fair, which runs Sept. 7-23. Even better, if you tell us why we should send your whole family, you'll get a chance to win the Patch Family Pack:

• four fair tickets (kids 5 and under are free, by the way)

• a Patch tote bag to hold those fair souvenirs

• assorted Patch goodies such as magnets, pens and balloons

• and a story and photo of you and your family on Redmond Patch.

Here's how: Simply fill out the form for a chance to win a pair of tickets. If you want the family pack, write us a note in the comments section at the end of this story explaining in 200 words or less why Patch should send you and your family to the state's biggest fair.

Each Thursday for the next three weeks, through Sept. 13, we'll hand out one pair of tickets and one family pack to lucky winners from Redmond. Winners will be notified by email.

See you at the Puyallup!

Here's the fine print (click on the attached PDF for complete official rules):

  • Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 and older.
  • To enter, sign up for the newsletter in the form above with your name, email and Patch town.
  • All entries must be received by Sept. 13, 2012, noon Pacific time.

I would love to win a family four-pack to the Puyallup Fair! We have never been, and I think our three kids would be totally amazed at all there is to see and do at the Fair. I myself have not been since I was in college; I think I need to re-taste those famous scones! Please pick us! We are happy Redmond residents and I love the Patch :)

Thanks, Myriam. The scones are almost reason enough to make the drive down to Puyallup! We'll be announcing a winner later this week—good luck!

I love the Fair! I'm from Tacoma and when I was in junior high-high school, we used to get "fair days" and get to go to the Fair during school hours with all of our friends! It was so great! That was (gulp) 30 years ago mind you, and I would love to go with my own kids now! So fun!

Thanks, Michele! Fairs and carnivals are always more fun when you get to skip school to go to them. The Catholic grade school I attended holds the Everett Sausage Fest as a major fundraiser every October and we always got "half day" on the first day of the festival so we could go have fun with our classmates and families. Great memories!

We would love to come to the fair! We moved in July from California and are trying to embrace as much of the Washington life as we can! We've heard the fair here is fantastic!!

I remember going to the fair when I was little with my grandparents. We would make a whole day of it. The rides, the animals, the games, the scones... It all seemed so BIG and I knew it was something special. I'd love to take my son and see it through his eyes now...as long as he doesn't make me go on the Zipper. :)

About 6 years ago I went to the fair, pregnant (due date October 8th). You would think to yourself, "Wow, she is so lucky, everything a pregnant gal is craving is probably at the fair, and deep fried!" Well it was true, it was pretty much better than going as a kid and riding all of the rides. Now, I couldn't go on any rides, but the food was worth it. I am definitely planning on going again but to win a family pack of tickets would be fantastic, I could show my daughter all of the food booths she went to hehe :). And this time we could go on the rides :) It'd be awesome!!! And if my husband reads this: Babe, I am starting my diet in October!

Going to the Puyallup Fair has become a family tradition for us! We usually only go one time a year, but it's hard to see and do everything in one visit! We love the animals and crafts, and of course the food. I have been too chicken to do any big rides, but if we win the family pack I promised my daughter I would go on that crazy scream ride with her! (fingers crossed!!)

The last two weeks have been a very bad dream. I lost my grandmother the same day my husband left for Utah. My kids and I have been walking around in such a funk that I would love to be able to just give them a day off from the stress of the loss. Because my husband and I have to support two homes this would be something we would not be able to do. (not to give a sob story) oh well missed the deadline thought I had this figured out :)

What's your sun profile? Would someone be able to plant veggies, sunflowers?--or are you more cool,Read More wet, shady in your locale? And do you have a generic gmail account people can contact you at, to preserve your privacy?

Our front yard gets a fair amount of sun, it faces south. Back yard is more shady/wet. We've beenRead More trying to grow grass back there and just have never had good success. I would be open to whatever someone suggests for planting (veggies, sunflowers whatever). People can contact me at ariana at chris burgess dot com.
