Cavalia Announces an Additional Week of Shows

High demand for tickets prompts organizers to add more shows.

The following information was provided by Cavalia:

Due to the strong demand for tickets to , the organizers today announced an additional week of performances. Cavalia, which premieres on January 18 under the White Big Top at Marymoor Park at 6046 W. Lake Sammamish Parkway N.E. in Redmond, will now extend its run to February 12.

“Cavalia was enthusiastically embraced by the Seattle community in 2004 and the demand for tickets this year has been overwhelming,” said Normand Latourelle, Cavalia's founder and artistic director. He added: "The show has been significantly renewed since 2004: new horses – who never give exactly the same performance twice anyway, increasing the excitement – and performers have been added, each with his or her own strengths. The Puget Sound community’s strong equestrian roots and appreciation for the theatrical arts are why we have been eager to return and share this new show experience.”

Cavalia is a lavish orchestration of multimedia, equestrian and performing arts. Charged with poetry and pure emotion in a dream-like virtual setting, the show combines acrobatics, dance, aerial artistry and live music with the stunning addition of magnificent horses.

The stars of Cavalia, the 45 horses representing 10 different breeds from the United States, Canada and Europe, will arrive in Redmond and take up residence in their stables near the White Big Top on January 12 at 1 p.m.

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
