Carolyn and Dennis Buckmaster introduce Harriet Holbrook Smith, social activist/anarchist, NW adventuress, leader of men and women, university professor, raconteur, nurse, innovator, civic leader, world traveler, inspiring personage and much more, all in one person.

"Healing, Romance and Revolution" is a compilation of Harriet's letters home from Changsha, China where Harriet was a nurse, nurse manager and educator with Yale in China. The year, 1926, one of the most tumultuous and revolutionary times of China.

Harriet is a keen observer of her life and times mixing the political, social and war with her quest for romance and professional responsibilities in a fascinating series of letters.

Join us at Ravens Books.

This session is supported by an informative and entertaining PowerPoint Presentation.

And, of course, Carolyn and Dennis love fielding questions.

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
