Literary Group to Host Free Writing Workshops for Teens

The weekly series begins next Tuesday at the Old Fire House Teen Center.

The Redmond Association of Spokeword (RASP) will host a weekly competitive writing workshop for local teens beginning next Tuesday, Oct. 11.

The series will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Nov. 8 at the . Teens between 13 and 19 who are looking to improve their writing are encouraged to attend, and all literary genres—including fiction, non-fiction, songwriting, poetry and comedy—are welcome.

During the first class, local author (and former Patch contributor) Cat Rambo will teach the elements of "flash fiction"—short stories of no more than 1,000 words.

The workshop series will culminate with an open mic night on Nov. 19 that will give students the opportunity to share their work with the community.
