Redmond Cinema to Screen Globe Theatre Production

The Regal Bella Bottega 11 theater will show "The Merry Wives of Windsor" on June 27 as part of Shakespeare’s Globe London Cinema Series.

Redmond's movie theater will be one of about 200 cinemas around the country to screen the London Globe Theatre’s critically acclaimed production of "The Merry Wives of Windsor" at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 27. Tickets are $15.

The stage-to-cinema presentation of Shakespeare's 17th-century comedy is part of NCM Fathom, Globe Theatre and Arts Alliance Media’s Shakespeare’s Globe London Cinema Series, a four-part series of classic Shakespeare titles in U.S. movie theaters nationwide this summer and fall.

Each performance includes a 20-minute behind the scenes feature that provides insights into the working of the Globe today and a study of each production. Tickets for the series are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com. For a complete list of theater locations, prices and additional information, visit the Fathom website.

"The Merry Wives of Windsor" is directed by Christopher Luscombe and stars Christopher Benjamin as Sir John Falstaff, Serena Evans as Meg Page and Sarah Woodward as Alice Ford. The Shakespeare series will continue at Bella Bottega with "Henry IV Part 1" on Aug. 1, "Henry IV Part 2" on Aug. 18 and "Henry VIII" on Sept. 15.

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
