SoulFood Books to Host Centennial Poetry Night

The free event will take place June 9 and feature original poems by community contributors.

will host a free poetry night June 9 in celebration of Redmond's centennial. 

The city-sponsored event will take place from 8 to 10 p.m. at the coffee shop, located at 15748 Redmond Way. Redmond's poet laureate and other contributors will read original poems inspired by historic photographs.

All of the poems are featured in Redmond's Centennial Poetry Anthology, titled 10 X 10.

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
