24 Hour Fitness 'Super Sport' Club Coming to Redmond Town Center

The fitness center will occupy the space that formerly housed Larry's Market and Top Foods.

The rumors are true: 24 Hour Fitness is coming to Redmond.

Christina Henning, senior marketing manager for Redmond Town Center, confirmed Thursday the national fitness chain plans to open a 50,000-square-foot facility in the vacant space located next to Cost Plus World Market that was formerly occupied by Top Foods and Larry's Market.

The Redmond location will be one of 24 Hour Fitness' "super sport" clubs and include a lap pool, spa, sauna, basketball court and cycle room, Henning said. The company aims to open the location in late 2013, she said, and will begin modifying the building, which has sat empty for approximately two years, early next year.

Henning said she thinks the fitness center will present a great workout option for those who work and shop at Redmond Town Center. Approximately 5,000 people work at the shopping center, which includes corporate offices for Microsoft and AT&T.

“The best part about bringing 24 Hour Fitness on site is that we’ll be able to provide an additional amenity for the huge employee population we have (at RTC)," Henning said.
