Black Raven Named Large Brewery of the Year at Washington Brewers Festival

Altogether Black Raven brought home a six-pack of honors at the first-ever Washington Beer Awards, which were announced at the festival in Redmond.

Redmond's own Black Raven took top honors as the Large Brewery of the Year at the first-ever Washington Beer Awards.

The winning breweries were announced Saturday at the Washington Brewers Festival in Redmond. More than 400 beers from nearly 70 Washington breweries were evaluated by 40 judges in a blind taste test, held May 18 at Elliott Bay Public House & Brewery in Seattle.

Black Raven also won medals for several of its brews, including Gold for its American-Style Imperial Stout "Grandfather Raven," Silver for its American-Style Pale Ale "Nothing but Flowers," and Bronze for its Wood Aged Beer "Great Grandfather Raven." The company took two out of three medals in the Specialty Beer category for Feral Saison and Possum Claus.
