Eastside Solar Tour Set for This Saturday

The Oct. 6 event will take participants to private homes and businesses in Woodinville, Redmond and Kirkland.

Woodinville's 21 Acres Center for Local Food and Sustainable Living will serve as the kickoff location for a solar energy tour that will take participants to six different sites in Redmond, Kirkland and Woodinville this Saturday, Oct. 6.

The free, self-guided tour will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and feature opening remarks from PSE's Jake Wade, who will talk about the basics of installing solar power at home. The event is being organized by Solar Washington, a nonprofit group of solar industry representatives, students and residents.

After the opening presentation at 21 Acres, tour participants will be invited to visit four private residences in Woodinville, Bothell and Kirkland, along with Union Hill GrassFed Beef, which has 40 solar panels installed on its barn roof.
