Factoria Walmart Hiring About 125 People, Opening in October

The Walmart at the Marketplace at Factoria is now hiring for 125 positions.

The Factoria Walmart, the second Walmart in Bellevue that will open within a year, has started to hire for new positions, the company announced.

About 125 people will be hired for the Walmart at the Marketplace at Factoria, also known as the Factoria mall. This Walmart will be a 76,000-square-foot store and is expected to be open in late October. It will offer a full range of general merchandise and expanded food consisting of frozen selections, deli meats and fresh produce, according to the company.

The Factoria Walmart will be larger than , which is known as the Walmart Neighborhood Market, and which has a focus on grocery products.

The temporary hiring center for the Factoria Walmart is located at 15650 NE 24th Street, Suite A, in Bellevue—which is not at the Factoria mall but about six miles from the planned store, according to the company. Applicants also may apply online at careers.walmart.com, or at the in-store kiosks within existing Walmart locations.

Paul Cox, store manager for the new store, says that the new store will need both full- and part-time positions and in all areas of the new store, including hourly and supervisory roles, Cox said.

Once hired, the Walmart team will begin preparing for the store’s grand opening, Cox said.

As of April 30, 2012, the average full-time hourly wage for Walmart associates in Washington is $12.93, according to the company. Medical plans and a 401(k) matching program are available.

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
