Featured Event: Keep It Simple Farm Grand Opening

The new organic farming store will celebrate its grand opening with a full lineup of activities from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 20.

Been yearning to spend an autumn day on a local farm? Saturday is your day, as new Redmond organic farming store Keep It Simple (KIS) Farm will celebrate its grand opening from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a full lineup of activities.

Some of the planned events include a 10:30 a.m. demonstration on edible plants by Dave Boehnlein, book signings by local authors, watching the salmon spawn in Bear Creek, children's art activities, music provided by SoulFood Books, and interaction with all sorts of animals.

Free hot dogs will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and hot cocoa, appetizers and complimentary wine will be available from 2 to 6 p.m.

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
