Been yearning to spend an autumn day on a local farm? Saturday is your day, as new Redmond organic farming store Keep It Simple (KIS) Farm will celebrate its grand opening from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a full lineup of activities.
Some of the planned events include a 10:30 a.m. demonstration on edible plants by Dave Boehnlein, book signings by local authors, watching the salmon spawn in Bear Creek, children's art activities, music provided by SoulFood Books, and interaction with all sorts of animals.
Free hot dogs will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and hot cocoa, appetizers and complimentary wine will be available from 2 to 6 p.m.
KIS is located at 12526 Avondale Road NE in Redmond. For more information, check out the grand opening event listing, or click here to read an earlier Redmond Patch feature story on the new farm.
