Hancock's Bakery Wins Third March Can Madness Competition

 of Redmond took the title for the third time in 's March Can Madness Food Drive, collecting 1,472 pounds of food and $525 in cash during the five-week competition.

Thirty-two businesses competed in this year's contest and collectively brought in 23,535 pounds of food—nearly two-and-a-half times last year's total of 9,809 pounds—and $3,030 in cash donations for the Redmond-based nonprofit.  

Hancock's defeated Kirkland's Guild Mortgage to win this year's competition. Guild Mortgage actually collected more food than Hancock's in the final round, but the contest uses a scoring system that divides the total pounds of food by the number of employees at each participating business, making Hancock's the winner with a score of 628-622 points.
