Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center Moves to Redmond

Little Bit is on track to be the largest provider of equine-assisted therapies in the United States.

Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center celebrated its move from Woodinville to the newly renovated Dunmire Stables in Redmond last week.

Former Seattle Mariner and longtime Little Bit supporter John Olerud; King County Councilmember Kathy Lambert and Redmond Mayor John Marchione officiated at two separate launch events.

"This is all about giving everyone a chance," said Olerud. As a parent of a rider myself, I know firsthand what a difference Little Bit can make in the life of a rider and their whole family. Now, twice as many families will soon be able to experience the amazing things that happen every day at Little Bit."

Little Bit was the first nationally accredited program of its kind in the Northwest and currently helps 222 people each week. There is a growing demand for services and more than 250 individuals are on the waiting list, some waiting up to two years. The new 17-acre facility will enable Little Bit to grow and reach more people.

"Our goal is to make the waiting list a thing of the past," said Little Bit Executive Director Kathy Alm. "This is a dream come true, and we are grateful to the supporters who donated more than $10 million over the last eight years."
