Redmond Businesses Raise a Glass to Seattle Beer Week

Celtic Bayou and Malt and Vine are offering special tastings during the regional event.

Two Redmond businesses are participating in Seattle Beer Week, a regional celebration of all things hopped that runs through Sunday at locations all over the Puget Sound area.

In Redmond, is offering special tastings every evening this week. Selections from Anderson Valley Brewing will be featured beginning at 5:30 p.m. tonight; the rest of the week's line-up includes a HUB vs. Fish brewery face-off on Wednesday, an Epic Ales beer and cheese pairing on Thursday, and special Pike Brewing samples starting at 6 p.m. Friday.

Malt and Vine employee Chelsea Delaney said the shop has participated in Seattle Beer Week ever since it opened four years ago. The sampled brews are chosen based on whatever is popular, she said.

“We try to get in whoever we can,” Delaney said.

Malt and Vine will also offer a tasting of Dogfish Head selections at 3 p.m. Thursday. All tastings are available for $1 or $2, depending on the brews.

is joining in the fun tonight with a Washington Brewer's Night from 6 to 9 p.m. The pub will be pouring two cask beers: Fish's Fighting Cock Porter and Fremont Brewing's Big Brother IPA.
