Patch Picks: Where to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Redmond

Do you know of a party we missed? Share it with your neighbors in the comments section.

JJ Mahoney's will open at 9 a.m. for breakfast on Sunday, March 17. Giveaways and live entertainment throughout the day, including an appearance from the Eastside Firefighters Pipes & Drums at 8:30 p.m.

Celtic Bayou will be getting in on the action with live music and drink specials throughout the day—along with plenty of corned beef and cabbage. A Celtic Fire will provide live entertainment starting at 12 noon, followed by Strange Nails at 7 p.m.

The Three Lions Pub will be serving special drinks and menu items from 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The lineup includes corned beef and cabbage for $15.99, Guinness braised lamb shank for $17.99, four featured Irish beers and three specialty cocktails.

They say everyone's Irish on St. Patrick's Day, and Agave Cocina & Cantina will be taking that to heart by offering $5.50 Green Midori Margaritas, $5 Bloody Marys and $4 mimosas all day Sunday.

Redmond's Bar and Grill is going all out with green beer and St. Patrick's Day specials throughout the weekend. A live DJ will be spinning the tunes starting at 10 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday.

If St. Patrick's Day makes you want to dance a jig, head over to the Redmond Senior Center on Sunday for a special edition of Tim J. Hickey's Third Sunday Swing. The dance is open to all ages (18 and older) and includes a swing class at 6:30 p.m. and live music starting at 7:05 p.m. Advanced admission is $20 per couple or $12 per single. (Tickets will also be sold at the door.) Call 425-556-2314 to sign up in advance.

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
