Redmond Cycle Gearing Up for Move After 42 Years on Redmond Way

The bicycle shop will move to a new location a few blocks away to make way for the new downtown Redmond park.

After 44 years in business—42 of them on Redmond Way, will be rolling to a new location sometime between now and January, the shop announced earlier this week on its Facebook page.

The cycle shop will move from its current location on Redmond Way to a space between Bear Creek Parkway and Leary Way on 159th Place in order to make way for the .

The building currently occupied by Redmond Cycle—along with four other nearby structures—will be demolished sometime next year, according to shop owner Ernie Estrin. He said Redmond Cycle has a deadline of Jan. 13, 2013 to move to its new location, currently occupied by .

We , when owners were worried about securing a new location within the downtown Redmond area. Estrin said it took the business more than two years to find a spot.

"I think we're probably one of the last ones" to relocate for the park, he said.

Estrin said he originally hoped to find another prominent location on Redmond Way, but the cost was too high. The upside of the new space, he said, is that it's about twice as large, with tall ceilings and an open layout.

"It's going to be a completely new look for Redmond Cycle," he said.

Our front yard gets a fair amount of sun, it faces south. Back yard is more shady/wet. We've beenRead More trying to grow grass back there and just have never had good success.
