Potbelly Sandwich Works will open , with an "Oven Warming Party" set for Monday, April 16, and the first full day of operations scheduled for Tuesday, April 17.
On Monday, the first 200 guests to visit the restaurant between 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. will get a sandwich, bag of chips and fountain drink in exchange for a $5 donation to the Redmond High School Band Boosters.
Potbelly market manager David Maki-Waller said the Chicago-based sandwich chain enjoys working with the local community for promotional events at its stores.
"There’s usually a lot of energy and passion around kids' activities and kids' sports, and that’s what we like to see in the store,” he said.
The new Potbelly store will be the fourth in Washington state, but Maki-Waller said the company plans to open "several more" shops in the Seattle area and also expand into Oregon. Redmond store hours will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Mondays-Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
The new restaurant is located at 8867 161st Ave. NE in the Bella Bottega shopping center. For more information about upcoming changes at Bella Bottega, .
