Report: Microsoft Cuts Hundreds of Jobs

The Seattle Times has cited an anonymous source as saying hundreds of positions have been cut from the company, mostly in the advertising sales and marketing divisions.

Microsoft has eliminated hundreds of jobs, according to a report by The Seattle Times.

According to the Times, the company has confirmed that positions were cut but has not specified how many. The newspaper cited an anonymous source as saying the lost jobs numbered in the "hundreds."

Most of the eliminated positions were in advertising sales and marketing, according to The Times.

Microsoft also cut approximately 200 jobs in its marketing division earlier this year.

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
