Starbucks Honors Earth Day With Free Coffee or Tea

Redmond has at least a dozen Starbucks locations.

Starbucks, a Patch partner, is honoring Earth Day on Friday by giving away free brewed coffee or tea. The tea can be hot or iced.

People will need to bring in a reusable tumbler or travel mug, according to a post on the company's website. If customers do not have a tumbler or travel mug, they can ask for a "for here" cup and Starbucks will pick up the tab.

The company is doing this to help raise awareness about the environment. During last year's promotion, more than 1.2 million people participated, the company said.
