Construction Alert: Paving at Novelty Hill Roundabout Likely to Cause Delays

Traffic will be alternating directions during the Thursday afternoon commute.

Drivers can expect delays around the new roundabout on Northeast Novelty Hill Road as crews work to pave the roadway this afternoon.

King County Road Services sent an alert on Thursday advising motorists that the paving could continue into the night with crews leading traffic through the roundabout one direction at a time.

No work is planned at the intersection Friday-Sunday, but paving is expected to resume Monday with the same alternating traffic pattern.

Drivers are asked to use alternate routes when possible.

The roundabout is located at 196th Avenue Northeast and is part of the ongoing NE Novelty Hill Road Project. Drivers can sign up for electronic construction updates by visiting www.kingcounty.gov/noveltyhillroad and following the link at the top right to “traffic impacts/detours."

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
